Family Profiles: Identifying Local or State
Resources and Barriers to Quality Child Care

These forms are intended to be used for analyzing the resources and barriers to quality child care in your own state or community and to begin the process of identifying potential solutions. For each of the families described in the Family Profiles, you will be determining (a) what each child and family needs to ensure quality child care, (b) the existing resources in your state or community that would be available to meet each of the family and child needs you identified, (c) the barriers that may prevent the family from accessing existing resources and gaps in the existing service delivery system, and (d) potential solutions to the barriers or gaps you identified (e.g., expansions or changes needed in the service delivery system and the policies that influence how it operates).
